Seems as though my blogging skills tend to come in waves. Oh sure, I dream about blogging, but then before long it just doesn't seem fun enough to share. Well this time....HUMPH (is that a word). I don't care, cause this just makes me HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY! And blogging really is about making yourself happy, RIGHT!
So at my house, it seems as though I am a master at the changing of the rooms. The current room I write about has been a red bedroom for Anna when she was little. Brown when Brad moved in for an office. It's had a turq. wall, a yellow wall, and a green wall, for Anna's bedroom again. Daniel ran into the outside wall, so we had to repaint and fix the wall. I was too cheap to buy paint but I had a smidge of a minty green that I painted over the bright green. Which looked a little weird. I striped the yellow and turq with mint and.....
Then Daniel moved out, and Anna wanted to take over the basement. (which for sure left Seth very happy that the man space was being taken over by girls).
What was I to do with an empty room. Ah what the heck, why not make myself an office. I stole the table and chair out of the living room, where my little office sat for many years. (this space now currently waiting for a remake because it is empty.) (inspiration should come any day now)...and threw in a few of my crafting supplies that I like to "look" at. (hey you can collect things just cause they are cute)...and have since piled boxes of &**& ...fine things, all over the floor and shut the door. Occasionally going in, to sit at my computer.
I tend to wait things out if I don't have any design inspiration...so yes I have been waiting...
and waiting...
I did find this.
A piece of gift wrap, from Paper Source, that I bought just cause it kinda inspired me. And low and behold, it just so happens to go with the paint colors that were in Anna's room. Which was a good thing, because after painting the basement, I am pretty sure I won't be painting again any time soon. And since yellow is NOT my color, at least maybe I could find a way to tie it all together...
So I waited!
And waited~!
And then I worried, because what if I needed an extra bed...
So I waited.
Then it came to me, a cute little platform bed could maybe work in a pinch. It could be like a little low to the ground couch. Could work. (inspiration from Urban Outfitters)
And so, I waited.
And then, I finally bit the dust and ordered a cheap one from Target. (because of course I WAITED too long on the Urban Outfitters one and it sold out.)
Which just so happened to fit Anna's old bedspread.
Which just so happened to fit with my old Raffia cabinet.
Which just so happens to work with my picture shelves.
And my little medicine cabinet rescued from the "OLD" Valley house, that holds all my vintage junk.
That works with my old quilt I threw on my chair.
And then once again I waited~
Which really means, I closed the door and continued to pile junk on the floor. Why look at it when it's NOT JUST RIGHT~
But then today came...
and yes my heart skipped a beat.
And while I promise if your not into cows and scrapbook paper, this will really do absolutely nothing to you. But if you are into scrapbook paper (or at least collecting it, to look at like I do) at least you will appreciate the work of this FINE BEAUTY.
MEET FERDINAND.
You know like Ferdinand the Bull.
Which has it's own very special meaning to me...which is a whole other blog post...
Oh and yes, if your still following me, I know I was talking about cows, and Ferdinand is a bull. And yes, I DO KNOW the difference, but I think you may just understand....
Just LOOK AT HER~
Isn't she lovely.
A beautiful cow adorned by flowers ( remember Ferdinand just wanted to lay around in the flowers) (see fitting name)(ok another long story).
But if you look close.
(and while it is hard to see all the raised details) You guessed it. It's as all made of scraps of paper~~ SWOON~~~~~
Which just so happens to make my heart unbelievably HAPPY.
I think just enough to finally find a lamp shade for my old lamp, add a light bulb. Pick up all the crap on the floor. Get my craft supplies looking cute. Find some curtains, and get to figuring out a way to another little project I want to get going for this room.
And to think, all it took was a cow and some scrapbook paper.
I think it may just have been worth the wait~ well if you like cows... (sure hope Anna doesn't want to move back upstairs).
Hey Lynda, can you make me a calf to go with her? (or Lovely, or any of you scrappers out there needing a project...it would make my life complete...come on PLEASE...SAY YOU WILL....
