I am pretty sure I don't have too many gardening skills in my -genes or (jeans). While Mom always wanted to be able to put in a garden...there were always critters in the valley...once she even put it in an old canoe...don't remember that helping...and I am pretty sure that dad was absolutely NO help in the whole taking time to help with that project. But when you marry into the Krafts...look out! Perfect yards, perfect gardens, perfect flowers....all of the family....
WELL don't I make them look good.
Cause try as I may.(and I really really really want to try) I can never ever quite get to the perfect status. Brad keeps the lawn mowed most of the time...I fill in every now and then...I have finally put the garden in raised beds...which WHEW has helped my gardening skills. (i would recommend it to anyone who has to water from a ditch and gets tons of weeds)...and while little tiny pots with cute plants in them is so my style...I have finally learned to go a bit bigger...throw some actual plants in the little pots, flowers in the big...and it is all working a bit smoother.
Ok, who am I kidding, I still have lots of weeds...but hey, DON'T JUDGE..(and irrigating boots all over the front door so you can't really tell there are cute plants anyway).
But then there is this...

two flower beds that are actually growing!
And with my FAVORITE summer flower (as apposed to my favorite spring flowers, lilacs and peonies).
I know I can't take any credit....it all comes from above.
My love for zinnias totally comes from our little Jackie. It was her favorite too. And she always would save seeds for Lynda and I. I have had them in many places in my yard...but they have done so awesome in my raised beds....

They can't not make you smile with all their vibrant colors and funky little personalities....and while really there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of Miss Jackie...every morning as I look out the window I can't help but feel that she is guarding my zinnias...helping them grow.

and like a few others from up above...just helping me get through the day with a smile.
