Ssssshhhhhh Don't tell my dance teacher but I am skipping dance. (i don't think she will notice) Felt the urge to come on home and do a little cyber Monday shopping...but first had to make sure the kit blog was up and going on face book and then as only I could do I was soon side tracked to something else, which reminded me that I was hungry, which sent me to the kitchen, where I saw my beautiful mess of Christmas spread everywhere that needs finished, but where there was nothing to eat, but my camera was on the table, which reminded me I had taken some food pictures during scrap camp preparations, which made me think that I should blog, which PHEW-WWW....no wonder I skipped dance I am tired.
Ok tired is probably not the word~ sporadic, I like to think a good multi tasker..anyway!
So I was going deep into my pictures to get out a great recipe when low and behold I didn't take as many photos as I had thought... so your stuck with this one.
Graham Cracker Pralines
Moms recipe from way long ago....something when you need a quick snack that is super easy, makes lots, and people seem to love. Plus all you need is 3 simple ingredients
Ok there really is 4 ingredients but you know butter is not really an ingredient but an essential in my world.
Simply line a jelly pan (as mom has written, which in now day terms is a cookie sheet) with foil. Break into quarters and completely cover with the graham crackers...stuff them in tight. Then chop your walnuts (like I used) (or pecans if you like) chop finely and sprinkle on top of the crackers.
Then simply melt 1 cup butter and dump in 1/2 cup powder sugar.
bring to a boil and boil 2 minutes (yes I would stir as it boils)
then dump it over the graham crackers and bake for 10 min at 325
makes about 48.
there you have it...please don't tell anyone that it is so easy...or that I skipped dance, or that I am not finding anyone any Christmas presents, or that my house is still a mess with Christmas stuff every where, or that we are eating popcorn for dinner cause there is nothing else....and I won't tell you that at the bottom of Moms recipe it says, "don't eat all at once!" Happy Monday Friends!
