in a lot of ways The Sisters is my all time enabler. a lot of my peeps probably would have not known that i just came back from somewhere exotic or not so exotic destination because
a.) i sometimes dont talk about where i'm going next
b.) i almost always don't blog about where i just got home from
so, may i share where i just got back from?
not too long ago, the whole family went to Eire for the 2nd time around. growing up i never thought i'd end up in Dublin or as a grown up, i never thought i would have my first Guinness in Carlington.
we stayed in a 100 year old renovated farm house called The Swallows. absolutely worth staying in:) {lucky for me, the owner left some of the before-the-renovation-photos of the house- you could see how dilapatated the farm house was}
just right outside the house it had the road to Tain Way (notice that it's also in Gaelic? cool, no?)
it's one of those 1,000 places to see before you die kind of a thing.
you're supposed to go beyond the hills to see all the medieval remains.
i honestly didnt hike beyond the hills because
a.) it was raining almost everyday
b.) it was very cold and very windy {a.k.a. Banshee . in other words, spirit of death. if i didn't believe it then, i believe it now} it was soooooooo windy.
c.) i was lazy
anyhow, the very next day we arrived, a twin little lambs were born.
i know, you only see one. i was trying to be sneaky.
humans are supposed to leave them alone so they can bond with their mother and also they don't become bum lambs.
when we first went, we got to stay in the city, which was fun BUT ! this was absolutely what i would imagine Eire would be, alot of this:
that's pretty much what our "neighbors" looked like.
we did have "normal" neighbors in case if you were wondering:
i loooove looove the Irish people. they're awesome. if you're single, marry one. i can almost guarantee that you wont regret it.
so anyhow, one day when we came home from one of our excursion, we found this note:
he actually swung by the house one time and check if the water was working however, he had the most thick Irish accent that no one could understand him~ it was like listening to me talking. LOL!
and you know what's cool about them...? they dont demolish their ruins. they build around them instead.
and we also got to see one of the old cemetaries although, this wasn't the historical one that we originally wanted to see but still cool:
i love everything about Ireland but the only thing i didnt care for was this:
yea whatever, the fish was fresh all right but just keep in mind to bring your own seasoning. bleeech... it was just waaaayyy too bland.
3 weeks in Eire wasn't enough so i would go again in a heart beat.
like everything else, everything has to end. thanks to Delta, we are home again.
